Snapshots International
Snapshots International is a UK-based research publisher, which publishes over 1,700 reports covering 35 industries within 25 countries. Each Snapshots Report provides five years' historical data and a five year forecast, and covers market size, segmentation and market share, with web links to relevant organisations, socio-economic data, and sources for further research.
All Snapshots data are compiled in-house by the Snapdata Research Department, a team of multi-lingual research specialists who trawl original sources and interview industry experts all over the world.
The report production process was too time-consuming and required input from the IT department to help create all new batches of reports. Snapshots International therefore engaged our services to improve the situation.
After analysing the problem, we realised how to improve the existing automated report production process and thereby reduce the time taken to produce the global series of Snapshots Reports.
The automated program extracts raw data from a series of Microsoft® Excel® spreadsheets, performs calculations, creates graphs and outputs the completed report to Microsoft Word. The research reports can then be distributed to the client as Microsoft Word documents, or converted into other formats, such as Adobe PDF or plain text files.
The new reporting program is so easy to use and reliable that the research team can manage the production themselves, without taking much time out from their valuable research.
This is a good example of how a client has benefited from a solution based upon Microsoft Office applications. The reporting system uses standard Microsoft Office software with which the users were already familiar. There were no additional software or licence costs and the training and support requirement was minimal.
